Madison County Bottle Caps
There are many types of caps. Some dairies didn't have their name on the bottle but used a cap to identify their business. Larger dairies had different caps for the different types of products they sold such as, raw , pasteurized , homogenized milk and various cream products. There are 3 common sizes of caps for the different milk bottles that were used. They are 48mm, 51mm and 56mm. The rarity of a cap or milk bottle is determined by how many have been found. For instance, there are lots of caps for the Dewan Dairy but very few for the Campbell Dairy both of which are in Oneida. I'm always interested in buying caps from Madison County. Below are the caps in my collection.
